Congratulations to Our 2025 Al Fuchs Scholarship Winner: Ella Rothberg
The Mill River Country Club is proud to announce
Ella Rothberg
as the recipient of the
2025 Al Fuchs Scholarship. She is our
second recipient, following
Ty Owens, who was honored last year as our inaugural scholar. With Ella, this scholarship is already becoming a cherished Mill River tradition.

Ella’s story is the story of Mill River—growing up at the pool as a member, giving back as a lifeguard and coach, and rising to become Pool Director, where she now helps create the same summer memories that shaped her own childhood. She is also the longest-tenured pool employee today at Mill River, a testament to her dedication and leadership.
At
Roger Williams University, Ella shines as a scholar, athlete, and mentor: a
History major with minors in
Psychology and
Public Humanities & Arts, a
Resident Assistant
supporting first-year students, and a
Division III distance swimmer known for her grit and team spirit. Looking ahead, she plans to graduate early in 2026 and pursue
law school, carrying Mill River’s values into her professional life.

The Al Fuchs Scholarship honors academic excellence, leadership, character, and service—qualities Ella demonstrates every day. As Al Fuchs himself once said:
“Success means leaving a place better than you found it.” — Al Fuchs
Through her commitment to Mill River, her academics, and her future aspirations, Ella is doing just that.

This achievement is made possible by the generosity and spirit of our members, who ensure that opportunities like this continue year after year. Because of you, the scholarship doesn’t just fund education—it builds futures, strengthens community, and carries forward the values that define Mill River.
Congratulations, Ella. And
thank you, Mill River members, for making the Al Fuchs Scholarship a living legacy of opportunity, community, and pride.
