Dress Code/House Rules:


At the Mill River Country Club, we maintain a dress code to ensure a pleasant and respectful environment for all members and guests. Please adhere to the following guidelines:

Golf Play and Club Property:

  • Proper attire is required at all times on the golf course and Club property.


  • Bermuda length shorts are mandatory for men on the golf course and in the Grill Room.


  • Collarless golf shirts are permitted but must be of the same golf attire intended for the course.


  • Cargo pants and cargo shorts are not allowed in the Grill Room or on the golf course.


  • Shirts are to be tucked in, and hats should be worn forward.

Grill Room:

  • Jeans are permitted in the Grill Room only, but they must be new, clean, and not of the pre-worn/washed variety.


  • Tee shirts are not permitted in the Grill Room.

Dining Room:

  • Formal, presentable jeans are allowed in the Dining Room.


  • Bermuda shorts are permitted in the Dining Room following golf events only.


  • Long pants are preferred in the Dining Room at other times.


  • Jackets for men are not required in the dining room during the summer months, but shirt collars are mandatory.

Men & Boys:

Acceptable attire includes golf shorts or similar walking/Bermuda shorts.


Shirts must have a collar, turtleneck, or mock turtleneck and should be tucked into shorts or slacks.


Golf shoes with soft spikes or sneakers are allowed.


Hats or visors should be worn with the bill forward.

Women & Girls:

Acceptable attire includes golf shorts or similar walking/Bermuda shorts, skorts, golf skirts of modest length, slacks, capri or crop pants.


Shirts can be sleeveless, short-sleeved, or long-sleeved, designed for golf, with or without a collar (including various collar styles like boat neck, V-neck, turtleneck, or mock turtleneck). Neat-looking top/blouse styles meant to be worn outside pants are also acceptable.


Sweaters, jackets, golf jackets, vests, and pullovers are permitted.


Golf shoes with soft spikes or sneakers are allowed.


Hats or visors should be worn with the bill forward.

Unacceptable Attire (for both men, boys, women, and girls):

Running, biking, or camp shorts; exercise or other athletic shorts; cut-offs or cargo shorts; spandex shorts; carpenter pants; overalls.


Tank tops, racerback shirts, halter tops, tube tops, tee shirts, spaghetti straps, low-cut or mesh shirts.


Swimwear or tennis attire.


Jeans and denim attire of all types and colors.


Clothing with inappropriate language or graphics.


Metal spikes of any kind.


Hats or visors with the bill to the side or backward.
